The year is almost over, which brings with it retrospection and reconsideration. I had originally intended to write more regarding media I've enjoyed and thought about, but frankly most everything I've enjoyed wasn't from this year. So instead this post is all about what I've done this year.
Goals
2025
At the end of last year, I came across one of those "Repost with your creator goals for 2025" posts. Here's what I wrote down:
- what I want more than anything is more than "I am gonna make it through this year if it kills me" because it's killing me
- actually make something, anything - just something that actually exists and isn't vapor
- idk maybe get paid make something
I'm still trying to decide on that first one, but at the very least I definitely made things this year (see below). Unfortunately, I haven't really been paid for any of this directly. (Please note I am deeply grateful to those that have chosen to support me this year through whatever platform. I do not mean to downplay your generosity; simply, I have not been commissioned or hired to make anything specifically.)
In the words of Meatloaf, two out of three ain't bad.
2026
So what about next year then? Well, my main goal in life is really all I want to focus on:
I want to make cool stuff with cool people and get paid enough for it.
That's it. That's the dream. But there's three parts to it. First is making stuff. I can do that, but I don't want to do it alone. That's the second part. I need other people. Friends, community, it takes a village and all that. I'd really like to make more friends in the creative space. I'd also like to do more collaboration type stuff with people.
And then there's the getting paid enough part of all this. Frankly, I'd love to get hired onto a cool project. Alternatively, I make something worth selling or get paid to make stuff for people. So if you want to commission or hire me after seeing the list of stuff I've made this year, you can check my VGen or contact me on Bluesky. If you want to support me otherwise, check the links page.
